If your team is ravaged by injury or if you've identified a new star to revolutionise your fortunes, then you can use transfers to freshen things up. You are allocated 30 transfers to use over the course of the season and, to prevent you from using all your transfers straight away, are restricted to making five transfers each month.
Transfers can be made at any time, but in order to score points from a player's next match you need to complete the transfer before the scheduled kick off time of the match in question. If you make the change after kick off the player will only start scoring points from his next match. When you bring a player into your team you do not get the points they have already won, but equally you don't lose the points a player has already won for your team when you terminate their contract.
To make a transfer simply click on the Transfer button on your team page then click on the cross next to the player you want to replace. Select the player you want to bring in by clicking on his name and then, once you are happy with the change, click confirm. Remember that your team must stay within the £55 million budget, have no more than two players from any one Premier League club and use either a 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 formation.
You can change your captain before the first match of a game week (a Fantasy League week runs from Tuesday to Monday), which will usually be 12:45 BST/GMT on a Saturday, except when there are midweek matches. Captain changes will then be disabled until the start of the next game week. In addition, you can only transfer the player chosen as your captain out of your team at the same times as mentioned above.
Sometimes during the course of the season players will move between Premier League clubs which can result in your team having more than two players from one club. When this happens Fantasy League will update the player's club on the Player List, but it will stay the same in any teams who had the player before the real-life transfer took place. This is to prevent creating invalid teams. The player will still score points based on goals/assists/clean sheets for his new club, however if this player was sold, he could only be bought back for his new club.
Don't forget you can make up to 30 transfers per season and are restricted to five transfers each month. You do not get five transfers every month. If you were to use five transfers each month for the first six months you would have none left for the rest of the season.
